Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American sportscaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a anchor for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. The child of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. Her skills were instrumental in helping her land her first post as a producer assistant at Univision Miami in which she was a producer of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then it was announced that the CBS affiliate located in St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. In 2009, she relocated from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as an anchor for the newscast of KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. She covered stories about immigration and drug trafficking in both Texas and Mexico. Also, she was often requested to fill in as a sports and weather anchor. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallasthe affiliate of Univision Dallas, and she is more responsible. She wrote pieces on Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS as well as the World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. The family moved to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born in November of 1985. There is an older sister. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. After a while the family split up, and in 1995 Fabio Fajardo remarried. He passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. When on vacation, Antonietta stayed at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered the job of his dreams. Antonietta who was in high school who had a vision of how she would like her life to be, visited Mount Union University in order to find out what she could get out of the college. Then she was enthralled with the school. The university offered her an academic major. After graduation, she went to the University as an undergraduate major in media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station director of WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her with his enthusiasm for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
